Terms as Value Added (VA) and the Value Added Scoreboard are in vogue in boardrooms in the UK. The purpose of this short paper is to outline these terms and consider these concepts as measures of corporate performance.
Managers need an understanding of the economic significance of value added, its use as a measure of productivity and also the competence to interpret a value added statement prepared from financial accounting information.
