The Design, Implementation and Evaluation of a Strategic two-day "Presentation Skills" Course as an Innovation in Curriculum Development in the Prison Service

International Journal of Applied Management (ISSN: 1742-2590) Volume 1 Issue 1

Derrick Walker

METHODOLOGY

Traditionally, the criteria for becoming a Prison Service tutor is that the person has successfully achieved a three-day Presentation Skills course, or had a teaching qualification. The following framework was constructed as a focus of methodology to design and pilot a brand-new 14-hour (2-day) student-centred course - a national package that will enable local Prison Service tutors to 'stand and deliver' training in prison establishments with confidence, influenced by an underpinning knowledge of basic learning theory and practical teaching skills
